Equity Red Star upgrades PA product
13 Jan 2010
In response to RoSPA figures indicating that more than 36 million working days are lost each year due to work-related accidents and ill health, Equity Red Star has upgraded and re-launched its individual personal accident and illness policy.
ERS product development manager, Dawn Illing says the Lloyd’s syndicate has introduced new features and enhanced existing cover whilst freezing its rates, allowing brokers to maximise additional business development opportunities.
“New cover for hospitalisation pays up to £1,500 for treatment following bodily injury and extra permanent disability cover has been added for severe brain damage preventing the insured from performing daily activities including feeding, dressing, bathing and walking.
“Additionally, the policy’s definition of ‘average weekly wage’ has been enhanced to cover regular dividend payments for self employed people and directors or shareholders of small private companies,” she adds.
Illing confirms ERS’s new individual personal accident product is now available to brokers.
RoSPA statistics show that each year 2.7 million people turn up at A&E departments seeking treatment and around 350 fatalities are due to reportable accidents at work.
