Equity people achieved great success at recent charity fundraising initiatives.
Volunteers manning the Equity House call centre phones for Sport Relief processed donations totalling an amazing £73,332. More than 120 members of staff answered almost 3,000 calls during the five hour TV extravaganza.
Meanwhile, Equity Red Star’s team running in the Brentwood Half Marathon came in 17th place with a very respectable 788 points; the fastest half marathon runner was programme manager, Adam Lawrence at 01:29:26* (88th past the finish line). Almost 20 runners from across Equity’s businesses supported the event which attracted 3000 competitors and is set to raise record donations for local and national charities.
Equity CEO, Neil Utley confirmed the group would match the sponsorship its runners raised for the individual charities they chose to support.
He said: “Everyone who took part in Sport Relief and the Brentwood Half Marathon should be very proud of their personal triumphs.”
